Uninstall any of the USB devices you've tried to install.

Get the latest version of the VIA 4-in-1 drivers from here (ftp://ftp.dfiusa.com/VIA%204%20in%201%20Drivers/4in1425a.zip) and install them.

Reboot

When Windows has restarted, plug in one of the USB devices.

If you are still getting problems, then check the BIOS to make sure that you have USB enabled. During all your past tweaking you may have inadvertantley (spelling ?) disabled it.

If you cannot get the USB devices to work in the ports that are already on the motherboard, try plugging in the extra two that come in the box. They fit into one of the slots on the back of the PC. It's worth a try.
