Well, f**k my old boots, I never thought I'd live to see the day. Tis 12.10am and I've just booted up Openworld for the first time and...it worked first time!!!

Like s**t off a shovel and no connection problems - despite engineer buggering off with the manual!! I can only guess it's all downhill from here on in.

Many thanks to all the peeps who've posted on ADSL over the last few months. Advice/thoughts/encouragement have been very much appreciated.

I think I'd better have a lie down in a darkened room :)

hg1 - lots of worrying posts about it, but so far it's worked fine for me - though admittedly it has only been 35 minutes!!

Connection woes mentioned elsewhere might be geography-based (I'm in SE London and problems seem to be bad in SW)

Just done a quick tour of the regular haunts and Q3F and C/strike played with 60-odd pings. Sloooow UO2 fan sites load in seconds, old e-mail settings still work on outlook express for current ISP and Napster's a breeze. Hehe - I must be dreaming :)

(What's the betting I'll be hopping mad as it all goes pear-shaped within 2 days?)

Yeah it's been retty good for me this last day and I'm in Cardiff on HG1.

Serpico tip of unplugging the modem and plugging it back in seems to work as well.

Have fun, I've been on for three days and I love it:D

Hehe - did play up a little earlier, but only when I attempted to reconnect. Foung "logging off" as myself from the so-called network (ie. my 1 home PC) and then reconnecting (without restarting PC) worked.

Too early to say if mine's trouble-free tho. I've only managed to clock up 2hours online in total since midnight last night cos of work (I'm here now) and moaning toddlers (they're not, thank gawd)

hehe - anyway, bound to be teething problems during first few weeks. After all, BT have only had four years or so to prepare, bless 'em
