*sigh* I know overclockers have the Hercules but think about this,is it worth it?? wot card do you have now?? Cant u wait for NV20 at least?? It costs over £480 inc vat FFS, the ELSA card will be even more expensive coz they always are!!

Sorry to be so flaming but things are getting ridiculous this card maybe the fastest on the market but its a total ripoff,is 10-15% increase in performance & benchmarks worth £200??.

fair point, but getting the fastest now is not always totally ridiculous..

i'm building a new system from scratch soon. a few years ago I built myself a pii 300 w/ 128mb ram and 10Gb of scsi disks. at the time ppl laughed saying it was overkill, but in reality it has lasted brilliantly and still performs well in most situations, the only change being an upgrade of video to the 3DB TNT2 Ultra 32Mb. it would now be considered a pretty modest setup.

if u r starting from scratch, it is worth throwing every penny you can spare at it, because games and other software will always be more and more demanding on your system, so it represents good value for money if you are 'future proofing' it.

i agree that oneupmanship (?) can lead to a profound lack of common sense when it comes to upgrades, but there is always a case for getting the very best if u can afford it

I agre with you totally,it you asked thsi questions 2 months ago, I would have said Geforce 2 GTS 64mb all the way m8 but £300 a tad pricey but prtobbaly worth it.

but I'm not going to say that for the ultra £500 isnt worth it.

The geforce 3(nv20) is due in the new year,it wont be £500,it will probably be around £300 at launch IMO. All i am saying id wait or buy a geforce 2 mx to tide u over if you cant cope with the tnt2 ultra which is still a good card.
