I have got the creative Geforce2 graphics card and have tried playing dvds using it. The software player im using is ATI 3.01 and have an 8X DVD drive.
When i playback a movie it is very jerky (never used to be with my old graphics card (ati rage pro and s3 savage4 pro)
Any ideas why its so slow?
My system spec is p3 650, 128mb ram (133), 32mb gefroce2 GTS, PCI128

OK
What operating system are you using?
If it is Win2K, then the drivers for the GeForce II do NOT have hardware decoding support enabled.
Make sure you close down any memory/cpu hogging programs.
Enable DMA on the DVD Drive, if supported.
Set desktop area to 16bit colour.
Is your DVD drive set to master or slave?

Im using win98, DMA on dvd drive is enabled. Im not sure if its set to slave or not, its the only dvd/cd drive i got but i think my hard drive is set to master (if thats what you mean? :))
I have also tried it by shuuting down all progs aprt from sys tray and explorer and in 16bit colour

I have used several in case it was the software. I have used cinemaster's latest version and the ATI version. I have also tried some DVD player that accompanied some of by DVD's but they are all jerky.
I think im going to have to dig into my pockets and buy a proper decoder card :(
