A question about the forums...

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what the difference between the red closed post icon and the white closed post icon is?

You mean besides the fact that one is red and the other is white!

Isn't it just the one is a topic that has been closed by a mod and other is one that has been closed by the person that started it?

But then again I could be wrong. :E

I thought it could either be that, or red indicates a new thread, and white indicates no new replies.

Hopefully someone who knows will be able to answer :)

I think T^RN!$H3[) is closest to the mark, as a blue folder indicates a thread without new posts and a yellow folder is there to show a thread with new posts.

Red is a thread that's been closed by the thread starter, and white is a thread closed by a moderator/admin. Check out the Gameplay Stuff (http://forums.gameplay.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=82) forum for some examples :)

I stand corrected. A red folder is for a closed thread with new posts, whereas a white folder is a closed thread with no new posts.

Also check out the main forums list for a rare example of a closed forum icon (the announcements forum). It's the first time this has happened since I've been here (since January 2000)

Yes but only recently have they made an Announcements Forum which is, incidently, a closed forum, the first one of its type for ages.
