The Next CS Tournament

Hi all

I wanna take this opportunity, before telling you exclusively about the next tournament, to mention a few thanks.

First to Angela at AMD for providing the prize money for this event. Again on the day we see the reasons why the Athlon is the chosen processor for Lanarena and the gamers.

Thanks to my other 2 partners from Lanarena:

Vikas - who organised the whole day and ran a top admin shop.

Dave - who was camped all day on the Projector providing top class ghostie coverage.

But Lanarena is not just the owners, our staff were excellent - Danny who provided full IT support, the Head Ref Andy and our top crew of refs: Lee, Ben, Gazz, Mat, Luke and Sean. Big thanks to them.

Right, CS #2 is December 28th (a wednesday during xmas week) at the same venue. Full details will be up on Thursday @ http://www.lanarena.net and in PC Gamer 91.

You guys want me to limit clan entrants to one each???

I'd just like to second this. The venue and the organisation were miles ahead of the previous LAN competitions I've seen, including the big projector, bar, and relaxing area upstairs (although perhaps more big comfy sofas next time!)

The admins were also friendly, and seemed to know a little more about CS than the last lot we encountered.

Unfortunately I can't make the next tourney cos I hope to be away, but good luck all who go.

BTW, about the 1 team per clan thing: H&SDBAM was a made-for-the-event team of people from 5 different clans. If you want us to bring 5 seperate teams next time instead of three, that's fine with us :)

I think you should limit the entants by asking teams to enter in order of preference, only letting additions teams for a clan in if there is space on the last two days of registry time, or something.
But whatever, I'm there. I owe [e-h-uk] a pint.

Also, there was a gamer in called [something]something Squirrell. Could you sort me his e-mail address as I want to ask him about the name, my surname is Squirrell...

Another problem would be that if some people wanted to enter two teams, they'd make up different clan names.

Ace.. but... there needs to be more p.c's so... less time.. and dont u think u should change it a little??like u get put into groups of 4.. u play 3 games... or wot eva.. and the winner of the group and the runner up get into the next round..?? like the world cup system? cus its a bit skank on the peeps that come from miles away and get knocked out 1st round.. and having waited 5 hours for there ****ing game!!!! well thankfully we didnt live far... we only lost 6/4 to the gamer *geeks* we cud of taken em... im looking forward to kicking there ass's next time woohoo!!!! :E bring it gamer!! bring it!! :cheese: MORE P.C's NEED!!!!!!!!! Yeah, limmiting the number of clans each one can have is a good idea. Also, the 4 hour waiting time between our matches (we got there at 9am!, our first game was at 1:30...yawn) buggered up our arms due to playing air hockey and pool so much. What else? Oh yeah, the computers upstairs was rubbish because we could never get on them, either pc gamer was playing on them or other clans woudnt let us on. Perhaps if each clan booked 15 mins on the upstairs computers it would be better. Ahh well, see ya all at the next one :) Esp. you JRDF peeps, nice guys, see ya around.

Hey all,
just a quick "thanks" really.
We were unsure what to expect,but were pleasantly
suprised with the company/standard of gameplay
& general atmosphere.
Though we were out camped by Professional Gamer
(we've got to use the damn time limit..)
we stayed in the competition til 16:00...LOL
(Due to a six hour wait...)
Drank far too much & spent most of Sat. night
in a pub with the [LMA] & had a blast...good lads those..
A "BIG SHOUT" to [COFR]too...
All in all a decent event & we'll be back!
A sugesstion for the next one...ditch the music upstairs & listen to the matches ?
Ta Dom & crew for an enjoyable event.
p.s- was'nt it [Cult]AWOL who shot 3x Professional Gamer
crew with his pistol in one go?????????
