Colour fades

Wotcha folks,

Can anyone tell me how to do colour fades, where, say, the colour blue fades seamlessly into white.

An example of what I'm after is used on the backgrounds at the BTOpenworld (http:\\www.btopenworld.com) web site.

I use Paint Shop Pro 6, so any tips using that software would be most welcome.

you can either use the paint bucket and set it to linear gradient or just draw some blotches of colour and then blur and smudge them.
