View Full Version : When you need an admin....

I just spent an hour or so in various AA arenas under various names observing. There was of course the usual bout of shameless runwaying, ramming, swearing, abuse, etc.
What annoyed me more than anything was that I noticed that while people were getting annoyed with what was going on and telling eachother to stop etc, nobody seemed to be prepared or interested in asking for assistance from an admin.
I and the other admins regularly patrol all the aa arenas (obviously not all the time) under various alias's so should anyone ask for assistance from an admin, there's a good chance you'd be heard. Just shout "ADMIN! help" or summat to get noticed.
There is also usually at least one admin sitting in #wpairattack on irc.gameplay.com, come find us here if you need help. You can also ICQ me on 32225301 and the others too if they want to give out their ICQ numbers.
So, don't put up with it, help us to help you.
thing is,
its either put up with it, or talk to u m8!!!!
i know which i'd rather do :E

To prove Sonic's point, I was in teams earlier. There were about 30 people, was quite a good night, despite the constant discons.
Anyhow, those that were there will remember someone called Pof Teamkiller, who appeared as GE and, well, teamkilled. Someone shouted out "admin", I was there (as an alias - don't shout at me ;)) and you may have noticed that he disappeared. That's because I suspended him after giving him three warnings to stop.
As the newlywed says, if you have a problem, don't get all misted up, get an admin and have the last laugh. Ok?
(Oh, don't look so shocked Arfur "Hazlo" Daley) :E
How would he know you have any authority if you are under and alias though m8.
i suppose thats the chance they have to take isnt it?
Play by the rules and you dont get any grief
or something...

Because the warning are issued via the tools in the voice of "God" prefixed "This is AA Admin". He doesn't see which pilot it is and will never know.
Plus, it is an irrelevance as to whether they believe an admin is an admin or not. If someone is wrecking the enjoyment of everyones game and refuses to desist from their actions, especially after warnings from someone clearly not through normal channels, they deserve to be suspended.

wotcha guys
I was in FFA on Saturady night and I noticed that the runwaying was particularly bad.
While I was on my way to racking up more glorious deaths I managed to land and get repaired on one occasion. As I was waiting to take off some nob decided I was an easy kill just sitting on the runway. You should have waited til I was airborne m8, it would have been earier, believe me :E
I was using one of the views to see who was about when this nob comes hurtling down the runway all guns blazing shooting everything in sight. After two failed attempts he decides that a runway ram is in order.
I DO know who it was and should he ever be flying when I'm about I'm gonna give him the same treatment :imubash:
Sorry admin guys, I know I shouldn't, but I feel the ppl that do this need a bit of their own treatment to see how it gets others very slightly p155ed off.
Any way, enough ranting for now, work to do.......allegedly.

I completely understand what your saying there b1as, but then you run the risk of being accused of runwaying or whatever and then we get the usual "he started it" bollocks.
If you want to get your own back, out fly the bugger, and get him kicked. It's always a good moment seeing a persistent arsehole lining up to runway/ram/team-kill and all of a sudden disappear from the game :E
I think the AA server must have a moral objection to us all, it kicked everyone enough yesterday.
I think people flying with admin tags might prevent situations from happening in the 1st place.

only problem i can see with that BJ is that when ive seen the Admins flying in open arenas under there names (non alias's) they usualy get bombarded with questions/moans & groans etc - at least under alias they can have some fun themselves and still provide Admin cover.
The real problem is that anybody can create an admin tag. For that very reason we *don't* use admin tags because if we did we'd get heaps of problems with impersonators.
If you see anyone with an admin tag.... they aint.
Admin tags are not allowed as they could be open to abuse/faking although i have gone to rookies with an admin tag makes no difference mind they still shoot me.
Anyway, we have asked for admin only tags like the zone has so stay tuned....for a long time:E

B1AS, the old club captain would say why land on the runway at all, and he's right m8, far better to fight till the last breath and respawn at a height that you then have more options, than to land, replenish, take off, and maybe....get airborne again.
Its not impossible to still get kills even when your 98% damaged.
Most of ffa arguments stem from runway problems of one sort or another, stay clear and you'll have less hassles more fun, and a better ratio :)

couldn't agree more Redkite :) Half the time you get wasted seconds after taking off anyway.....

Hi LADS & LSSIES
Well I was in FFA on Sat night and also saw SONIC being asked to get rid off a OFFENDER many times.
I also heard him tell the OFFENDER to pack it in but he carryied on, then all of a sudden the OFFENDER was gone, the POINT had been made.
This is the way to go in the END they will get the message, but first we all have to put up with this OFFENDING ACTION until it sinks into there THICK SKULLS they will not get away with it for too long.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ADMINS.

I agree Cobra, the admins do a smint job and don't get paid for it either - it's their own time and they don't have to put up with whingers if they don't want to, but they do!
Good on those hard working admin people
