Try it without error control first, but if you have trouble connecting, turn error control on.

Glad 2 c a post relating 2 my modem ,,not glad 2 c a string of numbers ad letters that mean nowt 2 me :(

Care to explain ,,or at least point me to a webby that will ?,,

Open your dial-up networking page and right click on the dial-up account and select properties.

Click on Configure under your modem, then click on the Connection tab, then Advanced.

Paste the string posted above into the area marked Extra Settings.

does anyone have an init string to show my true connection speed for the above modem?

The one and only string I ever used for this excellent modem was the connection speed limiter which was.

AT&N31

the last figure limits your connection speed eg 30 is 46,666 and 31 limits it to 48,888 etc.
