defrag probs

my hd is divided into 2 partitions, i recently tried to defrag.one half did fine without no probs but the other one just stops dead on 1%, i left it on overnight but nothing happened
i aint too good with all this techie stuff:)
anyone wanna point out to me that im missing something blatantly obvious? :E

have you done a full scan disk? as there may be some errors

Kill off any apps that are running in the background, The winamp agent is a known offender of this problem amoungst others.
