I need to upgrade to something faster than a celeron A 300MHz, I dont have £200 to spend at moment and i hear AMD Duron 600MHz can be found for only £60....? if this is true are they any good? Would it improve my frame rate much? (current FPS in Half-life, TFC, CS etc.. is about 10-20 with a voodo 3 2000 GFX card)

Also how much is a motherboard that supports the duron?

thanks.

Motherboard - Abit KT7 or Asus KA7(i think) - £105, or there abouts.
Duron - as you said.

I got a duron 600(now running at 800), and I am v.pleased with it, even before the chip was OC'd. Yes it would improve your FPS, though saying that, does your present memory support 100Mhz, which would be needed for the Duron.
