Am I the only person who's spotted that the javascript code for preloading rollover images doesn't appear to be working correctly?

I can't say that I've checked. Out of interest - how did you find out?
I'll go and check my rollovers now.

I noticed it on one of the sites that someone posted on here recently... can't recall which. The rollover images insisted on loading each time you did a mouseover, but the MM_preload script thang was in the source code. Seemed a bit strange. I've also noticed similar problems in a personal site I've been working on.
I'd try debug the code Macromedia use, but they've made it into gobbledygook and I don't really have the time to site down, dry run it and work out how it ticks :)
I don't use Dreamweaver so I can't say either way but I have heard other people complain about this before.
Hasnt someone done an extension to sort this out? Thought I saw something in me travels?

Actually... I just popped back to an old site where I wrote the rollover/preloading script myself and tested it thoroughly on IE5 and NS4.7. It worked faultlessly. But now, using IE5.5, it's not working :(
I use a JavaScript image preloader on my site and it seems to do squat aswell.
Takes just aslong for the images to swapover normally I think
