I have a geforce 2 with 6.31 drivers and directx8, In midtown madness the graphics totally screw like the buildings and sky, does anyone know if this can be fixed?

SYMPTOMS
When you play Microsoft Midtown Madness, you may encounter any of the following symptoms:

Random geometric shapes may be displayed on the screen.

Screen elements such as clouds may flicker or not be displayed properly.

Textures may not be displayed properly.

CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your display adapter does not support the display settings selected in the game.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, set the Texture Quality setting to Low and the Resolution setting to 512 x 384 pixels. To do this, follow these steps:

On the Midtown Madness startup screen, click Options.
Click Graphics Options.
Under Texture Quality, click Low.
Under Resolution, click 512 x 384.
Click Done.
If the problem continues to occur, follow these steps:
On the Midtown Madness startup screen, click Options.
Click Graphics Options.
Under Renderer, click Software Renderer.
Click Done.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Midtown Madness, version 1.0.

Hasn't fixed it, im running directx8 if that causes anything?

Make sure you get the latest patch for your game. A Midtown Madness 2 patch was just released, but I think you have the first Midtown Madness for which I believe there is also a patch. Check http://www.3dfiles.com for the latest patches.

Also, since you are using DX8.0 (from microsoft I hope, it's always best to get DX from the official site), you should try using the latest "leaked" detonator drivers for your video card. I believe the last leaked driver set was 7.something (can't remember), and it was supposedly DX8 compatible. I don't know if the set you are using is DX8 compatible or not.

yeah the lasest leaked ones are mostly good
