Basically it stops going forward at the regular clock speed when i turn my PC off.
IE I turn my PC off at 12:00PM. Come back in 4 hours and instead of the PC clock reading 4:00PM its around 2PM.

Is it as siimple as changing the battery on my motherboard?
Any ideas?

Al.

Looks that way, and if your MoBo is pretty new, then is should just be held in by a clip.

My God STOP!!! First make sure you write down all your cmos settings for your bios because you will lose them all when you remove the battery. Then when you have replaced it go into your bios and input all the setting which you have carefully written down.
I can't believe the others didn't tell you this. Hope it ain't too late.

phew,
Cheers m8. I guess it was lucky I got called into work this afternoon. I was just getting a battery out of an old motherboard to do the change as has been suggested and my work rang. I was cursing them at the time as well :)

SGT BLADE - Thanks. You saved me a lot of future hassle.
