Im using freeserve now... im playing £9.99 for a service that i cant connect to... at least 10 attempts to connect....
so enough is enough.... im changing isp
what isp do u recommend me to use.
i use the internet for mostly games (cs tfc)
and i download mp3's to back up my curent music on cd :)

"at least 10 attempts" to get on, lol. in the past ive left my isdn wardialling x-stream for over 20,000 dials before it got connected :)

during peak usuage periods a lot of frecall isps (not all) will be engaged, its just something u have to accept. if they didnt restrict the number if connections the service would be worse than it already is during peak periods.

if u cant b arsed waiting to get connected (it can be a bit of a long wait on modem) then BTInternet is ok as they have a massive capacity, very rarely is it engaged, and when it is u get on in a few dials. only downside is gaming pings spike a lot, downloads are fine tho. red hot ant is better for gaming but it takes a few mins to get connected sometimes.

I have surftime and use Demon, it costs £11.75 per month and that is for the Evening a weekends ones.
So far i have found them to be Very relaible, i connect EVERY damn time @ 48000, not bad for living rurally,
i usally ping about 200 playing UT, and usally 180-200 playing CS or TFC. This is also on a software modem tweaked using http://www.lagless.com and http://www.planetmaiac.co.uk

I'd recommend NetGames UK, http://www.nguk.net, u can trial it till 31st of december cos its in beta and thereafter its £25pm but its damn fast, im on it now. The first time ever i've been able to listen to net radio AND browse the forums at the same time. Brilliant :)

Anyway you might want to try Demon (www.demon.net) Sign up for there Premier plan and then surftime which makes all internet after 6 free and with demons excellent preformance you cant go wrong. Pity its 18 quid a month

I would be interested to hear how demon performs, because for £18 a month it should be erm great.

While it is expensive, I guess you get what you pay for, although I must agree that I have heard good and bad things about RHA, and when BTInternet is engaged it hasn't currently taken me over 1 retry to connect.

Demon is acctualy £11.75 a month, its just the surftime charge which hits it up to 18, damn u bt, DAMN U
