Hmmm, Kite cuties indeed......no way hosay :E

Was talking to Shoki earliar, and we both thought that firstly we find out how many we need to start a basic sqdn, is it 4, or 8 or what. So thats the first thing to find out.
Names.....hmmmmm we reckoned it should be something "piratey", but i havent any ideas myself at the moment, but i'm thinking :farmer:
Best thing we thought is to post your ideas, and we all choose from that.:cool:

With such a small group cant we just be all equal, with equal say. Do we have to get bogged down with politics? :hmph:

Blurgh - try finding a tourney...

There's a league going on at the Electronic Sports League which is European based... unfortunately, of the 3 languages I speak they aren't German, Danish, Swiss or Austrian :rolleyes: plus they haven't actually started yet.

Otherwise you've got the Roaring 30's League.
There's a few squadron's (or units as they call them - maybe you have to fly cupboards and wardrobes), but I was totally unclear on whether you could actually add your own or whether you had to take over a unit.
(they seem to be saying "here are the units in the league - although there may not be people in all of them...)

The obvious alternative would be to set up a league here of course...

I see this morning we got a nice little link at Crimson.org that'll make it easiar for peeps to find us, well done Slam :)
Whilst there i noticed the Skywayman, which is another UK based Squadron (<<<<<<<<<note the word squadron , lets try and get that established, we aint units, we're flying squadrons !)
Skywayman are west country based, and at present there only seems to be three of them, Jon Daring, Captain Blackadder, and Scorpion.
I've had a quick think about a name for our squad, and since in the game the base is always the Pandora i wondered about "The Pandora Privateers" or one of the characters in the game is Charlotte (charlie) Steele, so howz about "Charlies Angels", i dont really fancy anything with "wireplay" in personaly, i mean out of all the squadrons in air attack not one of them mentions wireplay so i dont think we need to either, but its up to you guys to post your own ideas and we'll all choose somthing from that, hope that sounds sensible.
That being the case it would seem that we have more than enough to form a squad, MSD and i reckoned we could count on about 10 peeps at the moment, and i reckon with xmas coming up soon, this will provide many more new peeps........we should try and be ready and organised for what i think might be a sudden appearance of new crimson pirates.
Well i'm off to sunny and glorious Cornwall for a ....Duck show this weekend (my daughter exhibits them) looking at the weather forecast Cornwall is having some right Ducks weather at the moment ugh ! i should be back Sunday evening in the meantime................

Hmmm took me a while but I finally found this place, lo all :)

Count me in on any squadron guys, this game rocks and competions would make it rock even more :)

Have we got enough peeps to create more than one squad and start up our own leagues? Would probably be quite small at first, but could attract international squads if it were pimped enough. Lets face it, we've got some people here with huge experience of competion life, lets use it. Thoughts?

Hey I remember the Skywaymen - haven't seen them about for quite some time... we should coax them back over here now we've got a smooth time of it :)

Well spotted there RedKite, although unfortunately I had contacted CSO a while back (i.e. before this discussion) hence the league and ladder comments. Still if I set up a sign-up page anyway and see how much interest we can get, if it doesn't work, well it doesn't but no harm in trying.

To have an internal league we'd need what, a minimum of 4 squadrons? with 4 playing per side that'll be er...

16 :E although you may need a min of 5-6 per squadron incase of drop outs which takes you to 20-24.

I think people should be able to call their groups what they want. I agree the term 'Unit' is pants, but personally I'm not too fussed on Squadron either - a bit too military, "A squadron of AirPirates" I just can't decide... how about a shower of bast.. no maybe not :D

If we're to start internal leagues, would be best to keep it small at first as Slam says 5-6 players per squad. Theres got to be 20 plus players we can rouse interest in competions in here alone, and we could pimp it over on the zone.

Just a thought (for the future), how well does the game stand up with 16 players? (Anyone actually managed to get in a game with that many people yet??) If it doesn't stand up too well, it's fairly pointless having large squads as people would get hacked off with not getting in games. I'd say there was no reason to have more than 10 in a squad, even if 16 players can get in a game, that would mean 2 would have to drop out. Obviously not all 10 would turn up for games all the time, so I reckon 10 may be enough to get good turn outs.

And hows about The Gypsies, Zacharys WWI squad on the russian front :)

Well maybe we should be just have a piratey name for the group as a whole such as.............come on guys put some thought into this, and remember a pirate is for life not just for xmas, so a name thats gonna last and not want to be changed for any reason is what we need

I agree Squadron does sound a little 'military', but what else do you call a flight of aircraft that fly as a group? If you browse the manual, it uses 'Squadron' as a refrence to the amount of planes kept in the Pandora.

And reading the manual, Samson's right, there is mention of squadrons, hmmmmmmmm but i agree with Slam it sounds too military, so ............maybe compromise

but how about being a militia instead, just a thought but i dont really think you have to call yourselves a squadron or militia or have any title,just a name that sounds good and fits it with the theme of the game, judging by other squads around i havent seen 1 with squadron in the name,

Look at it this way then, we're a happy go lucky gang of pirates, out for fun, and a fair game. Our name should try and express those sentiments but within the context of the game.

Crimson Buccaneers
The Gypsies (but it would maybe be better as The Gypsy Pirates)
The Crimson Skystreakers

My favourite is the Jolly Rogers, cos it reflects our :P happy disposition.

Well when i joined TSQN i was made to clean the squad loo's out with a toothbrush :( so its time for sweet revenge eh lads :naughty:
Full, round the back of the railway station on the Boeing Airfield, you'll find a nice loo, where Slam has he's "After indian curry dumping hole" jump to it m'lad, you'll find a nice new toothbrush hanging inside the door, Targets MSD will check you've done a nice jobby (since TSQN beat targets last night in a match) and then perhaps we'll let you in a game as our "target" at the next game night (currently tuesdays and saturdays)

So kicking off with B.A.T.S I thought it was an easy one to roll off the tounge, its got a piratety theme, flying theme, and aerial torpedos are part of the ammo in the game, and we'd be a sqdn.

Will there be more? (apologies to the bod who visited the WP3 chat room tonight but didn't get a response - unfortunately we we're all ingame and weren't just ignoring you honest!!)

We could have a mini mess about with 3 teams of 4 (or 4 teams of 3) and try and build it up from there?

That was without doubt some of the funniest games we've had yet, never mind the depraved team names, what about playing CTF with us all using Balmorals, as someone said so slooooooooooooooow but so fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuny :)
Sorry that a couple of you didnt get into the game lobby, but we did wait a good while for you, and then came looking for you. I've no suggestions as to how to avoid these peeps who cant get in, other than to say dont let it put you off, keep trying, and i personaly havent experienced many problems, and looking at the game in a broad sense, the fun and enjoyment has thus far outwieghed any hassles.

As for our squad name, Yowie sensibly pointed out last night, that we only have 12 letter spaces in the "create" team window in the game lobby, so we now got to rethink this name issue.
The easy way around it, is to abreviate in the same way as i did with BATS but idealy try and choose something that the intials makes sense like for example T.A.R.T.S (Tarts and Racketeers Tactical Squadron). Then in the game lobby we would have enough space in the "create" team window to put "The TARTS". Of course we're thinking ahead as to when we will be playing matches with other squads, but at the moment you can put any name in the team window that you want, <cough> as we noticed last night <cough> :naughty:
So give it a bit more thought fellas and see what else you can come up with :)

Hehe, that was complete and utter madness last night. Probably the best fun I've had in any game since Flares led us into a mountain side in FA2 :eek: Those were some of the most disgusting (and funniest) team names I've seen in my life 'dicks flag is floating' esspecially had me in stitches :E

GypsyPirates fits quite well, with no abbreviation but also no space looks good though huh? huh? huh?

Hi all,

good game the other night save the odd couple of crashes
(the pc kind) i definitely need some more practice though(few thousand games should raise my game to crap status)

As for the squadren name i have to agree that GypsyPirates
sounds the best of the bunch

im out saturday night for works christmas do so ill have to miss that game but ill try to catch the next one( should have my new gamevoice early next week)
