if i posted at the bottom, my views might not be noticed ;(

anyways. first i've got a couple of questions:
1, what would the format for clan games be? i.e timelimits, how many maps etc..?
2, how many clans are there at the mo? i know [RMN] would join a wireplay league.

Anyway, getting to the point. I think an FLF league is a great idea, and the sooner it gets organised the better. I would be more than happy to put in some work to get it running, i.e sorting clans out, drafting rules and matches etc. If i'm overstepping the mark then someone tell me, but i would like to see the FLF community getting underway ASAP.

So if you want my contributions then icq me sometime tarby (icq in sig), cos i'd like to help as much as poss (i have nice policies for dealing with muppets)

don't listen to starmonkee, he's... well he doesn't really exist, he's an IA experiment by some mad professor gone wrong, he'll keeel you as soon as you turn your back, he can command thousands of eletrical appliances from his server sitting in a dank dark celler somewhere, from toasters and fridges to irons and vibrators (no ordinary vibrators either, there double mamba vibrators)

i've been thinking about runes post on the other thread.
It would be difficult to play matches, because:
1, with a timelimit, the attacking team can take ages to cap all the points, leaving the other team no time to be able to win. By this i mean attackers could camp for ages, then cap and leave the opposition about 30 seconds to get all the points.
2, without a timelimit, matches could go on for days.

maybe im wrong here, but i'm assuming its a map timelimit and not a round timelimit :confused:

TBH, I think the timelimits would make clan games EASIER. As far as I know, there are no round timelimits longer than 15 minutes (forgive me if I'm wrong), so maybe if we have a map timelimit of 30 minutes, we can guarantee at least two rounds.

If we have a time limit then maybe that defeats the idea of the game..

But then on the other hand, If with some games they are too evenly matched, then they wont be able to catch the points...

But i think it does need a sort of time limit, 30mins though??

At the end of the day, trail and error eh? :)

U must of forgot the ways admins r recuited, its there fair play, and stuff which other admins and some "unknows" who actually pick the admins, but what the hell .

The servers have to have a map timelimit, and 30 mins seems sensible.

What would would be great is if FLF team put in max rounds, a la CS. This would allow us to have, for example, best of 5 matches.

We can dream, I suppose ;)

i reckon something like best of 5 rounds would be a good idea. needs some tweaking though, because of what i said earlier (games could last too long).

the problem with a timelimit is there not being too few or too many rounds but that the teams would have diffrent bumber of turns defending and attacking, 50% of the time 1 team would say attack once more than the other and the other team would defend once more than the other, which gives a destinct disadvantage to one of the teams.

Personally I'd go for the siplest plan: a 3 round limit each way on a map (1 point to the atatcker if they win the most, 1 point to the defender if they hold out more). Each week, the map is played twice (once each way) by every pair of clans.

Simple and quick; and since the LFL community is still in it's infancy the best league-format would probably be "everybody plays everybody else"; meaning not only do we all get soem games but we can also see how FLF stands up to competitive play (hopefully better than CS did in it's first 3 months). What clan-games server commands are there in FLF? As in any nice TFC or CS commands for getting people in their teams and resetting rounds?

hmm, UT had a good idea which was the first team attacked, and the round had a 20 min limit, if they caped the points, the defensive team, instead of a 20 min limit, got the time it took the attackers to cap....

if u see what i mean, encourages attacking play ;)
