I have had this serial modem for about 2-3 weeks now. I have to say it's the best modem i have ever used by far. I have mainly being using it for UT i'm I am getting great pings. Often as low as 100 and next to no packet loss. It's also extremly stable. But the most suprising result was that on wireplays servers because I got a consistant ping of 170-190 for the whole time i was playing - But was not using WP's dial-up - I was using Freeserve Surftime!
Freeserve surftime does get a lot of stick, and rightly so, but I have allways found them to be v.good for gaming for an unmetered connection. But this has a lot to do with the fact that Planet Online are only about 2 miles down the road from me and this means there is very few 'hops' between me and my ISP. In case you don't know, Planet Online are the company that runs Freeserve's backbone (servers, modem banks etc).
Anyway, I would definatly recommend one to anyone in the market for a new modem. It should also be flash upgradable to V.92 when it takes off (correct me if i'm wrong about that) a god send for us peeps who can't afford/get ASDL. You can pick one up at Dixons/PCworld for £69.99 and probably cheaper online.
I will be bringing home a Diamond Surpa express 56e from work in the next couple of days soon and will test both modems side by side. I will post the results here if anyone is interested.

Cheers.
