Just making a point that this mod is new,its gaining popularity each day on wireplay servers ive seen the trend of players who already know the game having ago at thier team becuase they dont have a clue as to whats going on.

Think how quickly you picked the game up before you have ago,the main thing is getting to know the maps and understanding everything that is going on via your hud at first glance its bewildering but once you get into the game you pick up the basics quite easily, give new players some advice and less "ffs my team is hopeless" i cant think of anything more annoying than seeing new players getting ripped into help them out and dont say "go read the f******* manual" its a damn cliche cos everyone knows nobody ever reads the manual why do you think valve have spread the menus through all the mods, its so people can jump in at the deep end.

Just show a little sporting behavior in this mod please, its got the friendliest type gameplay i can think of in a war situation by that i mean team work gets rewards and no single minded DMer can win the game so dont upset your team if you have the know how of the game help your team by stopping for a moment and give them a bit of quick advice or tell them to follow you etc...you wont lose respect by doing so you will no doubt gain it.

Rant over.

well said m8,

was a bit dis-hearted at the lack of team work the first time i tried it, but now more and more ppl are getting to know the maps the team work is starting to shine :)

Can someone explain to me exactly what a so called 'manual' is? Is it some sort of animal, mammal?

yes i had this yesterday morning .. i was in a team and all the players that new how to play buggered off onto the other side so i was left with a load of newbies ..the other team kept winning having taken all three sites ..or defended all three sites ..really easily...

whilst the other team took pleasure in taking the piss and calling them names, i asked if any of my team had played the game before and none of them had or they were only on they'd only played for 20mins or so ... so i set about trying to explain the basics and getting them to follow me as a mob and stuff to show them the differnt things to defend and attack ..and explained how to capture etc.. and told them to ignore the complete toss pieces on the other side. and low and behold we slowly all get better until two maps later we had turned the tables and were working really well as a team and won it 5-0 :E

RAAAA !!!! newbies own you all as they say :)

just like to say thankyou to all those people that were on my team for listening and all being helpful ...and well played :)

and all those on the other side, shame on you.

"hear, hear, hear" \Slime waves copy of yesterdays Sunday Sport (it's all they had....honestly :)

Yesterday i had the misfortune of playing on a non WP srver (as ours are always full, hint, hint). There was 1 complete lama who spent the whole game complaining his team mates didn't know where every cap point was (it was the ship map, which i still find hard to navigate after several games) and complaining every time someone shot him with the heavy weapon. "Can't you find a weapon that needs skill" "Oh, look, another skillless idiot" blah, blah, woof woof.

I rarely swear online during games but i couldn't help myself. Players like that really get my goat. I pray to god we don't end up with all these unwritten rules about what guns you can use and how you can shoot someone.

If someone doesn't know the way around then show them. We all have to start somewhere.

Right, winge over, I'm off to find that damn boiler room in the ship ;)

Cheers

Woooo, go Holy :)

Unfourtunatley we have to put up with those l337 players, who picked up the game in five seconds and feel its there right and duty to abuse those who are perhaps playing a game of this style for the first time.

Then again, its usually these muppets that bugger of on a one man mission, and expect the others to follow..

grrrr

I tried FLF for the first tiem today, and was pleasently surprised over the players on the server. I was playing with a couple of old CS mates, and we were jokingly pretending to be newbies in team talk, but I accidentally typed "HOW DO I BUY A GRNADE???//? in normal talk....... and soembody on the other team actually spent 30 seconds explaining it to me :)

I've only played it for a couple of hours so far, but I haven't seen a single person that was in any way unfriendly; a couple of newbies tried the old "shoot at everybody upon spawning" sprees, but people explained what was going on, and they even apologised. Good game, good community: love it.

Hopefully most of them saw my rant yesterday Brain m8:)

Its nowhere near as bad as it sounds and maybe my rant was overestimating a little to others, its a little minority that hopefully will see helping rather than having ago is the way to be in FLF:)

Overall ive been well pleased with what i have seen so far from this mod top people around great fun and good team play this is the place to be for me no doubt about it top Mod.
