From the Codemasters Insane website:
"To play online, you will need CMN installed on your machine, a Codemasters game, internet connection via a modem, ISDN or other and a service provider account.
CMN will install with your software, after which you double click the CMN icon on your desktop. You will then be connected via your default internet connection to the CMN server. Once registered you will then be able to see what games are available to you."
Presumably CMN is a Codemasters online gaming front end (like WP3). I cna only assume this comes with each demo/game as I can't find any reference to it on the site.

Ta for the help so far...
Looks like I'm missing the funky chick that is the CMN front end. I do have the multiplayer setup but it needs a server address to attach to.
Looks like its happy hunting for now, might even invest in the full version - would be worth a quick test first though.
I must be missing something obvious as Insane is meant to be 'easy' to setup for online play.

A certain chocolate vote for this game.
Has the potential for some mad online racing. Limited durability for one player only though. But thats not what its all about.

The demo on coverdisks recently is LAN only. You can download an internet demo from Codemasters site.
It installed just fine with me, but for some reason there is never anyone on there. But I'm beginning to wonder if there's a refresh button or something that I'm missing. All I ever see is about 9 people on the USA East server, and all the other servers are completely empty. I can't believe I'm the only person to have downloaded the demo, or that no one has bought the full game.
Why are the servers empty night after night...? The lag is too bad to the USA East one - the game locks up whilst trying to connect. All I managed to do so far is to host a game on the UK Beginners server... with just me in it.

Cheerz, I'll have another go at downloading the code.
Try it later though, just got the Multiplayer patch for Deus EX !

Solved - Sort of.
I just bought the full game - well worth it. Online play is fantastic. You can even host upto 4 players with a poxy 56K modem. Stop reading this and buy it.
PS I do not work for Codemasters but any royalties are welcome !!
