Newbie Idea/Help

Well i was thinking today when i heard a Newbie scream across the comms,

"HOW THE HELL U KILL?"

and

"iM ONLY A NEWBIE LEAVE ME ALONE"

That we have a newbie help center in every other game, how about we get one sorted here.?

Ofcourse well have to get people who know TONNES about the game and how to get it all setup properly, and everything to do with the gameplay, but a small team to start off with could answer those newbie questions, and maybe even give them some training?

Eventually when the community increases in size, We are going to have alot of newbies trying to tk, and genrally being a pain becuase they dont know how to behave or even fight in the server etc...

Ofcourse i would like to see a raise of hands etc if you want something like this, then ill speak with Tarby or whoever about it, and get something up and running...

Again just an idea so feedback would be good.

well i'd imagine that gameplay will put up a newbie server if the mod gets very popular :)

i set up the newbie organisation (WPCSA) http://www.wpcsa.org.uk and even though we helped some people its a nearly impossable task you get snowed under with requests etc. and you end up spending 2 months of ya life soriting it out.

I have created some simple speech binds in FLF that i use for Nooobies. They answer all the usual questions e.g

"How the hell do i capture stuff?"
"How do i change teams FFS?"
"This is crap, wheres the radar?"

they work well, if anyone wants em i'll send em on
ICQ 34352925 but they're easy enough to make.

seriously though, somethink as big as this newbie center type thing will take quite a long time getting off the ground.

It will need alot of commited people to do the web site, think up all the qesutions (maybe we could do that on here?)

and all the rest of it...

I'd help :E But i don't know how Newbies would feel with me giving them help.

Example That happened during yesterday:

Conversation
Me: Right just run over there and hit e to capture it.
Them: What do i do again?
Me: Just run over to that thing /points and press E.
Them: How do you know i won't get blown up..?
Me: Cause its the point of the game
Them: You sure?
Me: Yes.
Them: You really really really Sure?
Me: /me nearly faints !Yes!
Them: Ok

He Throws a grenade and jumps in after it while i cover him

Player Killed Self with Grenade
Idiot Was killed by (2)Player

Them: WTF?! Why did i die!?
Me: /me sighs The enemy killed you?
Them:What colour am I?!
Me: Blue
Them: Then what colour where they
Me: Green
Them: How would you know, Your an Idiot
Me: Cause it's the team colours
Them: So Mr.Idiot You goint to get me killed again
Me: /me looks at console No I'll let you jump on you own grenade again

but you first bit of advice i give to you - if anyone asks you to chase after a grenade in a minefield - politely decline and then as fast as you can the other way :E
