Using SWAT 3 textures with a HL-based map yet?
Any scaling problems or anything?

afaik theres legal issues using textures from other games, thats why i think the cs team had to take out those rogue spear textures they used a while back.
I *think* you can use kingpin textures now though cause the company which created folded but was later restarted under a different name (therefore becoming a different company?).
If u can still buy kingpin in the shops somewhere then copyright laws will apply!
If its still for retail then someone owns it somewhere!
thats all i know!
But not sure if its still on release!
I'm not really bothered with legal issues. I'm just wondering if there are any technical problems when using them.
(The legal issues can be worked around easy enough.)

the legal issues don't count unless you're actually making money from the levels, which the majority of people won't.
As for the SWAT textures, haven't used them myself, but I can't imagine there'd be too many problems in using them with a HL map - the dimensions will prolly be bigger (if the SWAT engine supports higher than HL's 256*256, which I don't know), but the proportions will probably be about the same, so you should be able to resize them with the minimum of distortion.
I don't know though, that's just conjecture - if you want, you can email me (cadaver@planethalflife.com) a couple of the source images and I'll put them together into a useable HL .wad file.

as I recall someone did a SWAT3 wad for HL a while back, although I doubt the post would still be about (I *think* it was on the old CS mapping board), but at least its possible :)
