which geforce shall i get with this spec?

hi all i have a voodoo2, i used to like the voodoo2, getting 60fps in Halflife, but now a days it give mes 20fps, for some reason.....my m8 said its coz the athlon dont support the voodoo2 driuvers, so i have been given new drivers that have been tweaked so they work with athlons. so as xmas is coming up i think i am going to buy a new 3d card, my pc spec is:

550 athlon
64mb ram - will get 128mb for xmas
voodoo2

i want a geforce, the ones i think i will get is the
geforce2 gts
or
geforce mx

but then again, sometime next year i might get a new cpu, so is it worth me considering getting a geforce2 PRO? as i would be able to get it for £230 with a bit of hassle.

Instead of creating a new thread I thought I would add my question here.

Im building a system based around a 1G T/bird, and would like to use a GF2 card, but which one?

At the moment I'm considering a GF2 Ultra, but is it worth the money??

To be honest m8 - the NV20 is only a couple of months away, maybe you should consider getting an MX or Geforce DDR until then - it will knock the socks of even the GF2U

go for an MX DDR with that processor you'll easy get two years happy gaming imo them cards are just way too much money :)

If you're going for an MX go for the Herc SDR...it's got a 128-bit memory bus (as opposed to 64-bit on the DDRs) and as a result it our-performs the DDRs.

In fact, the review I saw pitted the Herc 128-bit SDR against the Creative 64-bit DDR, the Herc "straight-from-the-box" was often as fast as the overclockedDDR.

Running both at stock speeds, the Herc was up to 20% faster.

With regards to your Voodoo2 "De-performing", I found that with my Voodoo Banshee. I Have a PIII 550 and with the banshee I get around 60 fps (640x480). When I bought the card I got 90fps in 640x480. I dont know if its the builds of Half Life or something, but something spooky is going on. Anyway, I recommend the Geforce2 MX (Creative DDR). 90 fps (1024x768 - high detail) in Elite force is very nice.
