And he's off!
Murray will no longer be commentating Formula One after the 2001 season. While, to some of us, this may be a great relief, I think that all of us will miss him. His voice and his name have become a part of Formula One as we know it.
I don't know if it's possible, but I'm going to try and vote for him as Sports Personality Of The Year next year. Spread the word! :)

That James Allen bloke did an excellent job at the French GP, he would be a great choice as replacement.
Murray is planning to let his replacement (whoever it is) commentate on a few races this year to break him in a bit.

F1 will never be the same again
i dunno
first ITV has made a real hash up of F1 with the adverts
now Murrey is leaving not gonna be worth watching now
probably still watch it thou
The most interesting thing in formula 1 these days is Murray's c**k-up's. With him gone, this boring motorsport will be even duller to watch. Murray has a knack of getting exited about watching the cars go round in prossesion. I suppose it's a good thing that he's retiring soon - If he see's an overtake next season, he may well have a heart attack.
lol - I wrote c**k-up without the stars and it changed it to cock-up.

I used to watch F1 on Eurosport - Ben Edwards and John Watson were brilliant. It'd be good if ITV got John Watson in. :)
So long as they don't lety Tony Jardin back in the commentary box I don't mind.
:E
watson was good on eurosport f1 back in pre-itv days. er, thats all i have to say on it., heh.

ROFL
I don't know why they cant have a little screen in the corner of the TV when the adverts are on. Thats wot they do in Canada!
And Murrys cockups will be missed but James Allan does a good job.
:(it wont be the same without murray. coupled with those adverts, these forums r gonna be seeing more of me on sundays than they did last formula1 season:(

I wouldn't be suprised to see him making a come back next season when viewing figures drop to an all time low :O
James Hunt was a good commentator but e's deed shame that
i would see if Fred Elliot would do he already works for itv
and there goes Jenson Button i say there goes Jenson Button
"and that car is ideeeentical.... apart from the one right behind it"
sniff, F1 will never be the same again....
