I need a nice good quality cheap soundcard with optical out

soundblaster platinum has an optical out but its £149 :O

i got the video logic sonic vortex 2 for about £50 new, can get them anywhere, has optical out and good for minidisc recording

Sonic Vortex 2 is the Aureal Vortex 2 - just tarted up (it uses the aureal vortex 2 engine I believe). I have that card and it works with my mobo. I assume you've heard that it won't work with the kt7? That what I've got and it works fine! I downloaded the latest drivers for it and I've had no troubles at all.

Btw, make sure you get the latest drivers from aureal's website first and use these :)
