both look like fine extreme sports games.
Many more people started skating after the release and popularity of THPS1 and i guess this will happen even more with the sequel.

MHPBMX is made by the same people and will hopefull bring out the world of BMXing as well, i might just take a peek into it...

Tony Hawks 2 is pretty cool but I hope that a good realistic Skatboarding game comes out soon, THPS2 is even more unrealistic than the first one ;(
I have tried thrasher Skate and Destroy but it isn't that great ;(

MHPBMX seems prettyu pants from the demo I have played of it, it is exactly the same as Tony Hawks but with way less tricks, worse graphics and nothing really new ;(

Well after playing this game i can say "Tony Hawk is a complete sell-out!". Wow! He did a 900! what amazement...
He's been skating for 16 years now and thats the best he comes up with. Sure Rodney Mullen has been skating longer, but he invented kickflips, ollie and the extreme darkslide.
Also with the amount of tv Adverts featuring skatboarding, eg. Jd sports. Also i don't want skateboarding to be the next football sport. The games are great, but they are really unrealistic i mean what is a "180 360 flip?" what is a "kickflip+Judoair+tailgrab"? merely impossible. In my mind tony Hawk is killing of the industry of skateboarding.
Skateboarding should remain underground.

Tony hawks is one of the fakest games around (23 combo tricks) but that doesnt stop it from being one of the most fun and addicting games around. Tony Hawk himself is amazing. he turned PRO at 14 remember, and the 900 aint that easy, belive me. Its about as easy as a kickflip judo tail (not impossible)
Rodney Mulllen is a paht skayer yeah, but he cannot be compared with Tony hawk seeing as tony hawk is an extremly VERT skater and Rodney mullen is a TECH skater. the only way you could compare them is to go back in time and tell TH to quit vert and start street.
I agree, skateboarding is turning into more of a "cool sport" Like if you skate you rule. Its good that skating is getting all this publicity and all but it shouldnt get so big that it could get into the olympics (a very big chance).

I do wish that Tony Hawks 2 was more realistic, I am looking forwards to the "Sim Mode" cheat that I will be unlocking in about 2 more 100% completions of the game :)

I think Tony Hawks is good though, it is a very fun game, I do wish it had stayed more with the realism level of the first game which was much more beleivable but its still fun, I think a good Skateboarding sim game will be the next step :)

er are 900's easy then? seeing as TH is the only one to have pulled one off in competition (as far as i'm aware) i tend to think they aint. TH is a pioneer so too is rodney M, christian hosoi, gonz, natas kaupas, mike mcgill and many many others


oh and by the way steer clear of dave mirra's bmxing....its a pile a ****

hmm. erm yes if the person has been practicing them for over 20 yrs now. By the way i checked an interview and he has now done it for atleast 20 years. i am not implying it easy but merely implying that he should now be able to do it. he has been skating for a long-time. In my opinion he is good but he is a complete publicity stunt.

But there are other Skateboarders that have been skating 20 years and they can't do it, in fact I think he has only sucessfully landed it once :)

AFAIK he also was the first person known to do the 720 ;)

When you watch that go outside and TRY to do a 360. its impossible. now go to a huge ramp and do 2 1/2 time that. Its not easy.

Tony hawk is not a publicity stunt. his job is what he loves and if it wasnt, why did he do it for so long? just becuase he has a game it doesnt mean he does it for the money.

My bro has PS2 he bought the game "SSX snowboarding" it's quite fake but there are real tricks like mute grab to 180 and levels are mapped out great!

I have a question about Tony hawks two. Please can you help me.

HOW DO YOU DRAIN THAT DAMNED FOUNTAIN!

The one in pensilvania.
Ive looked everywhere, and the place i think it might be is in front of those handrails, where you launch up onto that building. But it cant be becuase i have tried it countless amounts of times and i cant get up there!

at the start of the level get a special then head straight for the stairs in front, try and grind the handrail to keep momentum then boneless or even jump onto the balcony, up there is where the fountain gets drained.

alternatively you could try and grind all the way past the secret tape and onto the roof but i'm not sure if its possible without perfect balance

I can't believe how many people can't do that one, I found it before I even knew I was looking for it :P

I just finished completing the game 100% with every single character today, the 2 secret levels are wicked! :D
I even managed to do every single gap in tha game! :D

WW, you can't get perfect balance without completing the game 100% a few times so you can't get it until you drain the fountain but its damn easy to get to the fountain Valves ;)
There are cheats but don't use them, it really ruins the game, as my friend has found out :)

get an ok run-up and grind up the wire over the fountain (the secret tape wire) then keep jumping, doing a trick ( like a nosegrab) then landing back in a grind, just keep jumping and don't stay on the wire for more than a second at a time, when you reach the top of the wire you will go around the corner and start grinding on the building, jump to the right before you fall over, the fountain draining valves are in the middle of the balcony, run into them ;)

You should be able to do it 50% of the time at first and you will improve from there ;)

You can also jump up there by turning right at the start and getting a good run up but its much harder ;(
