RIGHT!

GRRRRR, i've asked this before but its annoying me!

Basically, if my CD-ROM is connected, and is detected then EVERY OTHER GAME APART FROM HALF-LIFE BASED GAMES work. Half-Life games (and Gunman Chronicals...) just lock up about 2 secs after trying to load! This includes CS, TFC, FLF etc.

I have the most up to date drivers for my CD-ROM. All my IDE cables are correct, i have ONE data going from my primary HDD< to my 2nd to IDE port 1. I have another data from the CD ROM to the IDE port 2. All jumper settings are correct. I have a v3 3000, (though this shouldnt make a diff to the CD ROM).

Why the hell should just Half-life based games crash? I really really wanna play Gunman Cronicals :( Is there a way i can get round it wanting a CD ROM? (u can just do a full install for HL..).

Is there a 'crack' so it doesn;t use the CD ROM drive?
sorry if this is spammed across a few boards, but me needs an answer tonight :)

thanks guys!

You also need to ckeck that DOS drivers for your CD-rom arent being loaded as they cock things up sometime too.

If u have bought the game and dont like the cd in if u like to play music for instance or say your cd-rom is a piece of **** goto http://www.megagames.com or http://www.gamecopyworld.com and u can get a no-cd crack from there aslong as u have bought the game.
