(Hercules) As sold by Gameplay what to you lot think?

I've heard there are some problems with the AMD k6-2 but I think that an agp upgrade will sort that?

I know there's better out there, but I only have a limited budget.

The card is probably the best budget card out there.... BUT!
What card are you upgrading from? Unless it's pretty old I don't think you'll see huge increases in frames per second coz the K6/2 is a real 3D bottleneck and will hold the card back considerably.

Thats a card I was thinking of getting. I currently run a Guillemot Xentor32 TNT2 Ultra.
CPU - 750 T-Bird
Ram - 128Mb
And I like running at the highest res comfortably possable.
Why? 'cos 800 x 600 (ish) looks crap on a 19" monitor

I bought the guillemot version this evening, installed without too many problems and I'm downloading 3dmark to give it a test. First impressions are very favourable, colours are richer, windows screens seem noticably faster.

It doesn't seem to like running halflife in glide mode but d3d works (might be my version of the glide drivers)

B17 is noticably better as well, but still jerky.

My old card is a creative voodoo banshee.

I use the same card.....got it as a freebie.

And eurghhh ! Dont run HL in d3d fek sake

Get the latest Detonator3 drivers (not herc ones) and Choose OpenGL and default driver.

Should atleast give you 60fps, which is what mine was doing in my PII-300. Its now running 99.9fps with 1ghz.
