right I'm on lucre island and ive gotta follow mandrill to the treasure horde or soemthing but guybrush says he need some kind of trail to follow into the forest... so what do i do cos im stumped? ive got him to break his cane and was wondering if that had anything to do with it..oh anyway tell me what obvious thing i have to do plz... or the bunny gets it :imu:

Ah, that one again. You've no idea how many people have been stumped on this one. It's not really that clear what to do but there are a couple of clues hidden if you listen carefully.
Get 'Odour LeChuck' from 'Scents and Sensibilities'. Then spray it on the dead creature that's in front of Mandrill. He'll get angry because he doesn't like the smell of pirates see, he'll snap his cane. So go to the stick shop place and use the termites on it. Mandrill will take the cane, leaving a trail of chewed up wood. There's your trail. And when you get there, there is another annoying puzzle, but you should get it quick.

Well I'd figured out the stick thing...but termites?!? Where do ya get those then?
That one had me stumped for days. The termites are in the fish bait shop. You need a wooden prosthetic arm to transport the termites. To get the arm you need a music box. You've got no music box? Head over to http://www.lucasarts.com to get a patch for the game. I hate illogical puzzles like that.

I got the music box without the patch as well... maybe its for stupid ppl who dont pick it up from the bank vault :P
Perhaps it was just for the american version. All I know is that I patched it before starting to play the game, since a friend had run into problems which the patch sorted out. Plus the lucasarts site specificaly mentions the music box as one of the issues that the patch fixed. Still good luck with the rest of the game.

I've just got EFMI, and I love it. I don't see what you people were complaining about the termites thing. You must have known where they are because you picked up some bait from right next to them.
Anyway, I'm stuck at the start of Act 2. What exactly are you supposed to do in the Lua Bar kitchen. I've poured grog into the boiler but can't think what to do next.
The Voodoo lady wasn't helpful and I have nothing else to go on. I've been to Meathook's (naturally, where else would I find a paintbrush?) and have discussed the Ultimate insult with everybody who wants to. What do I do next?
if you order the flamming dish then do the beer thing in the kitchen the heat melts the wax painting which you need.

Some people really make me lose my faith in humanity sometimes.
Easy Larch, everybody has their own level, I completed the game in 3 days but I'm still thick, just shows the strange way that I must look at things!:eek:

You only need to pour the beer in once. Go and talk to Meathook to find out about paintings and flames and things. Well... you HAVE to go to Meathook's anyway...

I told you I'm stuck at the catapult bit, not the install screen, I got past the install screen after a couple of hours of intensive coaching :laugh:
