When playing the game it freezes and locks up usually after being shot and the camera flying to the person who shot me.
I have had this problem with a voodoo 3 intel 810 gforce2mx (now using )Direct 7, 7a and 8. Please can someone help.

I have had this problem a few times. For no apparent reason the game will freeze and you have to re-boot the machine.
You say you are using DirectX 7, 7a, 8.......? Which one are you using ATM? The problem with DirectX 8 is that it is very new and hence is still very buggy (like most microsoft software) and there have been numerous reports of it messing up certain 'older' games.
If this happens regularly I would recommend reverting back to DirectX 7 to see if the situation improves.
You also mention you have a Voodoo 3. Have you changed the drivers recently or tweaked it at all? I have had some problems with my TNT2 after I dloaded some new drivers so I had to re-install my old ones.
Hope this helps. :)

Nearly forgot to ask......what H+D version are you running?

I am running 1.3 and Direct 8 with the geforce mx(latest drivers installed). The problem was worse with the direct 7 and the voodoo, so much so that I took the game back and the card ! I thought that a new card might solve the problem and then bought the game on budget,No joy. Thanks for your suggestions.

Have you patched the game at all? A friend of mine just bought H+D and his version is 1.2, which is the same as mine. Perhaps you need v1.2 (sounds stupid to downgrade?!!) :)
I am going to look for some 'known' bugs with the game and certain vid cards to see if this sheds any light on it.
Yep what he says :E but h&d is buggy, like men falling through the ground :) h&d2 should be much better and these odd bugs should be fixed hopefully. I had the same problem when i had a voodoo card now that i have a tnt2 the problems gone.
What spec machine have you got?

P3 600 128mb ram. Still playing by saving and rebooting!
Driving me mad.
hmm you should be ok with a spec like that. Maybe there are some conflicts somewhere check device manager for any hardware conflicts.
You only need to disable the "Triple Buffer" Setting in the H&D Setup ... same in No One lives forever. Seems to be a GeForce 2 GTS/MX Bug ...
