Ok I decided to reformat and start fresh for the New Year.
I am running Windows ME and everything went fine except for one small thing.

I have a 13.5 gig IBM HD and I had it partitioned into 'two' drives.
9 gig and 4.5 gig.

I ran fdisk and deleted the partitions before formatting.

Now my C drive only shows up as 9 gig in size and I am missing the other 4,5 gigs.

Any idea, at all, how I can recover the rest of that space...other than reformatting again?

Please please please help me if at all possible.

Thank you.

Happy New Year.

the only thing I know that can add, remove and resize partitions without any loss of data is Partition Magic.

Whatever you've done there, you should still be able to see the state of the hard disk using FDISK, and hopefully recover the other 4.5 gigs.

You WILL NOT be able to combine the missing 4.5 gigs with your existing partition if you've already installed an OS unless you use Partition Magic, although you can create a logical drive with it.

Just one more thing, Windows ME! Please, MS got Windows 98 Second Edition to a near perfect working order and you want to install ME?

Maybe you should dump here the contents of FDISK so we can see what's going on.

Happy New Year...

Sound like you've set up two primary partition...you can only have one running at any time under windows 9x.

So you'll need to restart Fdisk, delete the 4.5Gb partition and then make it as a Extended Partition, and then a Logical Partition taking up the space in the Extended Partition.
