i use Bryce myself.
i was using Bryce 2 up until about 2 months ago. then i had Bryce 4 bought for me.
some of my early B2 work can be seen in 'my gallery' in my web site (see sig) and i am starting to do animations now.

pob and Brocken:
whats lightwave like to use ?
its just that i might be getting it bought for me soon, and i have never used it before. all i am used to is bryce.
hm i think lightwave's great. Its totally different to max (my max never got upgraded beyond 2.5).
Comparing modeling in max with modeling in lightwave, the latter feels a bit more like, er, gardening with your fingers (heh, er, not that I know how gardening feels), compared to gardening via an equally talented robot. LW just feels more direct...you're in there pushing things around, cutting, slicing, subdiving, etc. Max felt too remote for me, modifiers and the like. Yeah, you can go back in the stack and change things, but to be honest you can work around that functionality (largely...)
Mind you, that was max2.5 and I never truely got into it. what I would say is that all the examples that ship with lightwave don't infact look very cool.
there are always going to be some things which you wish your software had but didn't not, despite it being there on other proggies....

any prices on these programs?
its true that you wish that xxx could do this and yyy could do that and zzz could do another thing. but then, a program that could do everything would cost about a squillion pounds ;)
Bryce 4 is about £170 btw HG

cool ok. Im into Clipart and Web Graphics. I just want a more stable program than Photoshop. Maybe a little cheaper than that price? - maybe starting from basic?
I'll get the hang of that quick and then go for something more advanced later in mnth.
