View Full Version : TV show title help
I was wondering if anybody could help me remember the name of a tv show I used to watch as a kid.
The theme music went something like this (sang to tune of Swinging on a star)
An earthling's a creature, cute as can be.
He's not as unique as you or me.
He's body comes in lots of different shapes.
They say his relatives are chimps and apes.
If you take my advice for what's it worth.
You could be happy there on earth.
The show was about a girl who was part alien and could stop time by bringing her index fingers together. Her farther was in some sort of box, or comunicated to her via the box.
Any help would be appreciated :)
There is no particualr reason for me wanting to know. It is driving me crazy :rolling: not being able to remember. It is all Hudson Hawks fault, it was the Swinging on a star song that reminded me of the show.

omg- i know what you mean but the title escapes me!
oh no!
:) Glad I don't have to suffer alone now :)
I know what you mean but I can't remember the name.
I don't deserve to suffer like this. I'm not going to be able to sleep until I know the answer.
 and so another person is trapped in my evil plan to stop the worlds' population from sleeping ;)
Sleep did not help  I still don't know the title of the show. I guess I will have to live with this gapping hole in my life :E

Dammit even I cannot remember yet - but the girls mother was played by the ugly woman that wanted John Travoltas c0ck in Saturday Night Fever
I think you're referring to "Out Of This World"... can't be sure, though :(
Out of this world?
Rings a bell :)
I just checked on the internet, you be right :D
Thank you so very much for putting me out of my pain :)
And the proof :)

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather go to earth
An earthling's a creature who is plain as can be
He's not as unique as you or me
His body comes in lots of different shapes
They say his relatives were chimps and apes
But if you take my advice for what it's worth
You could be happy there on earth
Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
You could be swinging on a star
You could be swinging on a star
Ok sorry I'm getting carried away now :) Now there must be an mp3 or wav of the theme song somewhere on the net.
/me goes song hunting :)

i remember the kid being quite good looking at the time ( hey I was a kid too ) - do you think she went the way of the porno like so many other 80's TV starlots (....Dana Plato from Diff Strokes ) - & if so where are the piccies :naughty:
:mrt: What you talking 'bout Mr Willis
 piccies in the mail ;)
Nope she is still an actress. Looks like mostly films for tv. Although she did appear in one episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine :)
