D-Link 10/100 is a good one. I got 2 and also the D-Link 10/100 hub. Very nice indeed.

Just go for a 10/100 card, any brand is good as far as I can tell. I bought two of said cards (unbranded) for £9 each and they work fine. How many computers are you connecting? Because if it is only 2, thn you will not need a hub....Just a crossover cable.

I do a "link-up" with 3 chums most week ends. We all have 10 mbit cards and just use T-Pieces, terminators and standard coax cable.

me was going to ask the same question.

Im more interested in doing what EARTHWALKER said, as the 3 computers are in different rooms, and getting the cable to each of them is easy :) How much woudl I expect to pay for all of that?

about 5-10 per card, and about £2-5 for say 5metre lengths of cable.

assuming a coax network (fine for small time gaming) about £40 tops if you shop around, could cost as little as £20 if you visit a computer fair to get the bits :)

What wereworlf_bite said. You don't need anything fancy for simply "linking up", just something that works. Around £30 - £40 tops.
