peripheral problems

i have just bought a guillemot steering wheel... my system performance has become very erratic ... is any one aware of similar problems or am i doing something wrong???

Is it a USB version ? Could be that you have an IRQ conflict in the system.

Boot the PC
Right click on the 'My Computer' Icon
Click 'Properties'
Click 'Device Manager'
Look for any anomolies, yellow exclamation marks or red crosses etc.
