Skunk,

I was wondering about our tolerance to players who ignore request. I was playing last night and there was a player called 'Player' who was playing with a HL skin. (The ones that freeze when they die). He refused to say anything or change his model. What is our stance on this as it was getting on other players nerves. Granted he could have been a newbie who did not know how to say anything but he was told how to (ie press t and type). I got his WonID (I think). He eventually dissapeared, the server crashed.

The question is should he have been kicked, what is our stance here.

Ahh yes the old HL skin, that used to really annoy me aswell, I think you have to put that model in your action folder to be able to use it, beacause AHL doesn't supply it as standard, but I may be wrong.

This is a bit of a difficult one really, as you say he may not have known what trouble he had caused and maybe was not looking at the writing or didnt know how to write, or could have had it set as a different key that "t"

It's really up to you m8, I mean if he was ruining the game for all the other players then its probably beat to tell him why hes being kicked using the rcon say command then kick him, if he comes back then try and tell him again why hes being kicked, normally we don't get that many TKers or idiots playing AHL thank god, it really is hard to tell weather hes there to cause trouble or not if hes not talking.

I'll leave it up to you m8 :)

Damn I cant find the WonID I wrote down for you to check. That would have been embaressing, kicking another admin :)

Thankfully we dont get many 'evil' players. Although there are a couple that come on, moan about the game and tell everyone it is crap. Why bother?

I realise this isnt something that should really be discussed on a public forum but at the same time it shuold be knwon by all players the boundaries in gameplay, what is and isnt acceptable on ahl servers as do the admins.
This isnt much of a problem at the minute as there arnt many players but beta4 shuold change that big style, if it's advertised properly it should not only draw back old players but attract new players. The admins need to know what is acceptable and what to do in certain circumstances etc (not really to be discussed publically) but the players also need to know what is and isnt acceptable and will or wont be tolerated.

Something i think needs to be at least thought about....

im in favour of a more drakonian admin on ahl.
ie these r the rules obey or suffer.

ok my veiws on this subject.
if it was me that evening i would expect to be booted.
i also would boot someone who was spoiling the game and not responding to (advice)from an admin.
when b4 turns up i believe a code of conduct would be a really good idea.
strict rules if ff is enabled then not life bans but a 10 min sin bin for persistant offenders.
i dont show up often on dm but i do try to keep tplay going in some shape or form and as such i kick afk's cos they cause big problems.i explain 74 times a minute about the bad spawn areas and how if the whole team types kill then they dont lose the round.

another thought(2 in the same day)
i think conduct is the one subject that should be a public forum.
now im in favor of the quiet word for petty offences and have spoken to a couple of good reagular playes about offencive decals, going off map on some levels and other onsportsmanlike tacktix and all have agreed that on the wplay servers they would play by the rules.
so i feel that once b4 arrives and we have a "stable"game regular players will learn the rules and the stream of newbies, and i hope its a very long stream of newbies(we need them to keep this game alive)will learn by example and strikt but fair coaching from the admins and by the same measure will stop the old hands abusing a real newbie for not knowing how to play.
did that make any sense?
ill read it tomorrow and wont understand

I suppose therefore that we will have to look at this again closer to the Beta4 release date. (Of course unless Skunk stays with his plan of reducing the Admins when a stable versions comes out)

Ahh isnt that nice, Skunk appretiates our effort :)

As for ACCIDENT. I dont know, you hit a button and nothing happens and then you get slagges ;)

My excuse is that BlueYonder is up the creek without said paddle at the moment. I pressed the Submit, it greyed out and I waited 10mins. I cancelled and did it again and 2 appeared. This also explains my abscense (?) from the servers at the moment. But i will be back to kick ACCIDENTS ass next time I see him. :)

Hang on lads i think ive worked kick
and ban system out,it goes something
like this:
Any player know to be better than yourself
"most of um in my case"should receive a
3 hour ban while your playing.
Any player find to be french should receive
a week ban,but if there talking i there own
lingo it should be extended to life time.
All americans shoulds be banned for life
no questioned asked, its easy to spot um
they use terms such as "this sucks" or
"this blows"also"you fag".
Any germans found on the servers should
be told to go a play on there own servers
if they have any, other wise they will be
shot a dawn.
Any player found to have taken perfomance
inhancing drugs after 10pm, weekends only
should receive months ban, then only aloud
to play under supervision.
Any player asking if your the "Admin"
when you have Admin afer your name
should receive a 30 mins ban for asking
silly questions.
finaly any player double posting on this
board and getting me all excited, should
be stripped of his clan badge, banned for
a month, and made to play Quake3 free for all.

And I quote from the Captain Peac.o.c.k :)

'Any player know to be better than yourself
"most of um in my case"should receive a
3 hour ban while your playing.'

I think what he meant to say was "all of um in my case" :)

I definetly agree with the French and German idea, mainly because a lot of the German players are logged on to the servers but not actually playing.

And as for the slanderous attack on my accidental double posting, I will have me revenge. (And I play Quake3 free for all for fun).

I am a bit worried that I was 'getting me all excited'. Care to explain or do we have to wait for the watershed?

A sufficient riposte I feel. Anyway why do some of you post in the early hours of weekdays? Don't you have jobs to go to
;)
