Everquest or Ultima Online? Help please.

I am thinking of getting into one of these online games but I dont know which one to choose. I have never managed to get the hang of any of the Ultima games. I am really into roleplaying so would like a game that involves lots of it.

I've not played Ultima, but from everything i've read about it, it's right up your street. Everquest is very good, but more hack n' slash.

UO?? <shudder> I play EQ and am too a RPGer, EQ kicks ass. Its also got a Role Playing thingy you can do (never had time to try it yet). EQ is truly an awesome game, its friendly, easy to start, hard to master and well worth every penny. If you get it, gimme a shout and I'll meet you on there.

they are both very god games, i started playing both right from there beginnings.
my opinon for what its worth is that u.o has a much better RP'ing community and will out live eq until UO.2 is realised. Put simply it is a far deeper and varied game, EQq is mostly kill things, level, repeat until bored. However EQ is newer and prettier so if you choose EQ get in a rp guild ASAP, that is about the only way youll get any RP'ing out of it. You will probably find a lot of people seriously dissagree with me but remember ive plyed both and still play both and the richer experince is to be had with U.O.

well heres my two pennys worth.
Everquest is more new and is nice and pretty,
but the role play side is limited as it is not as deep Ultima Online. And let me tell you Uo is very deep.Which is why i sent everquest back to the shop when i tried it and compared it to UO, this is just my opinion, but if your a serious role player, you will love were the wireplay guild is!
we have a house slap Bang in the middle of deepwater, for people who dont know Deepwater is a Player run town, and an amazing roleplaying fanatics town, they have people who log on to write book's for the libary, a person who comes on and pray'a for 3 hours as the town priest, shop keepers, even a Highwayman around town outside of town - which is fun running from http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
Uo is to diverse to explain, I mean you can become a shepard ffs! and spend your entire time herding sheep and other animals and sheering them for wool...
I'd suggest going to this website... www.roweb.co.uk (http://www.roweb.co.uk) were most of the wireplay UO'ers post messages on the EUROPA server post board were we all are.
This site is hosted by our knights of NI guild friends on the drachenfells server (lots of germans erk! )
come and have a look at what people get up to, and ask questions if you dont know what certain words mean etc, just remember if you do start playing UO say goodbye to your Life as you spend more and more time hunched infront of the computer oh and bigger bills http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif
