Ok, i have been working on this today, and have the 'visitor' side all sorted now. The admin bits need to be finished, but thats not too important at the mo.

I now need to get content on it.

The main purpose of the site is to show off this communities site building talent, along with those people who are scarily good at flash :)

To start with I am gonna need sites that we can review, and then, reviewers to review those sites !!

If you have a site/flash-anim you would like reviewing, post here and tell me

If you would like to be a reviewer (limited numbers) alos post here and tell me

I should have the database side of things done by end of play today, which will mean we can start putting up reviews.

I will also need people to help me with the site, maintenace etc. Ill also need some piccies done to dot around and make it look pretty. any helpers post too :)

Actually... looking at how this thread has taken off... there was never this much interest when I was doing it...

I know it was updated very irregularly, but hardly anyone seemed interested - unlike now.

Update on re-hosting !!

They have suggested I get a dedicated server. That means that I will need to resell some webspace in order to make it cost effective for me.

I was doing the Article scripting last night. I should have it finished very soon. If you could do you tutorial in word for now, then as soon as I have input pages in place, either you or I could copy/paste into them :)


Also, on a sadder note, Sunday's launch date isnt going to be met. Even working till 3:30am last night didnt quite allow me to finish stuff off :cry:

So Ill have to postpone it for now, but only a few days. It has taken off quicker than I thought, and Im even being emailed review requests now :)

Hopefully this site is gonna be big. On the foundations of what I have already, me thinks the futures rosey

Should I lay up the tutorial as I want it or just write it and then you lay it up, with any pics I supply etc?

Also on another note, do you need to have the entrance page as it isn't really offering much other than just an enter button, is it gonna just be that or gonna flash it? as it is an extra click etc. to get to the main page and as my web authoring lecture says if someone doesn't like your site after 15 secs, then they will leave, or something to that affect [could not actually remembering have anything to do with my bad marks :)]

I would just like to congratulate Spawno for all that he has achived so far with this site. Being a reviewer for the site I can see just how much work he has done with all the ASP scripting and the Database.

I'm very interested in this project. I have oodles of experience in graphic production for the internet, and know what I'm looking at when I see a Flash animation. I also wubs knocking out bitmapped graphics using Fireworks and indulge in a bit of the old 3D modelling from time to time.

As such, I'd like to be a reviewer for this site. I can provide detailed analysis of swfs taking into consideration the aesthetic, practical and technical merit of output.

I can also help people with difficulties they are having and point them in the direction of the right sources for guidance where I can't help.
