I'm no expert at flash :)
so maybe you could help me
if i want to make a gif image on flash i dont want it to be really big like it is by default
what i mean is if i publish it, no matter what size the content it, the published file is always really big
how do i make it so the published file is smaller
so if in flash i make a picture only in the top left corner of the square white thing, how do i make it so the published image is only that big
thanks :)
:/
u lost me
but something to do with the size???
try viewing 100% when u make the flash movie
what are we talking about here?
the file size of the .swf?
or the size of the gif? (ie. pixels)

right...i'll try explaining again
if i make a picture in flash (you keeping up ?)
but the picture doesn't cover the whole white square (you know, when you look at flash, theres a white square behind it)
when i publish the file (as a gif or jpg or whatever) its always published the same size
so i end up with a white area around
or if i make the background transparent i get a small picture but a lot of empty space around
is it possible to make it so only a small area of the white square is published ?

You mean you want to change the size of the canvas.
there a little checkbox (or something) for publish document size
not the entire canvas...
or you could just crop it in a paint program afterwards

i just dont know... :)
anyone have any ways to solve my problem ?
Go to /modify/ then /movie/ and you can specify the size of the canvas that you want to use. Altenatively press ctrl M to bring up the menu.... This is how u do it in Flash 5. Should be the same for 4 as well.
