Yeah your not wrong there m8!!! :rolling:

What I forgot to add to the 'Used' list though was a Jaguar XJ220 :)

Still funnier things have happened... It would cost about £1.5m to buy all them motors - peeps have won far more then that on the lotto!

You may still be able to buy a 'new' XJ220 :)

About 9 years ago, I was at a place called Bruntingthorpe having someone train me in track driving (oh to be young again). At the same time there was an XJ220 there with a bunch of development engineers who were doing 0-60 test times.
They were parked up so we went over to have a look, kick a few tyres you know the sort of thing :)
After a few mins an engineer said do you want a laugh, thinking that I may get to go in it I imediately said yes, with that he jumped in the car and started the engine.

Laugh I nearly wet myself, it sounded like a lorry, it must have had the loosest pistons in the world. There was no way you could listen to that noise and think sleek sprots car, more like Sherman Tank......

So you may want to cross that one off the list....

BTW they are huge.

If you need the car for every day use, then don't get a caterham 7. Some people do use them everyday but they are the sort of person you would cross the street to avoid ;)

My father has one, which I drive and it is great for sunny days, and track days. But never in a million years could I drive it everyday. As it has no heater no radio, you can't put the hood up because of the roll cage (and even if you did with no heater you wouldn't be able to see). In the wet you have to be a bit careful that you don't light up the wheels pulling away as if you are not alert you will spin yourself round....

But if I want to put an huge grin on my face then taking the 7 out is hard to beat, especialy for the price.

caterhams et la are the best. try taking the doors and windscreen off of a ferrari. oh you can't. however, flared wings? you mad ? nothing quite like the steering going light when you're doing over 100...

If money was no object, I would have to say:
Original Lotus 7 (Fun sunny day car)
Land Rover Mark 3 (I like them, there a classic)
Lotus Elise (see the other Lotus but you can use the Elise even when theres a hint of water in the air :))
Aston Martin DB5 (The names Bond, James Bond :E)
Mini Cooper.
Jaguar F Type
Jaguar E Type
Jensen Interceptor Mk II (oops allready got 1 :) )
Dodge Viper (8 litres of V10 lovlieness)

hint of water in the air? frrp.

infact, driving around in a caterham in the wet isn't as bad as you think, until you stop the rain just gets kind of, er ,sucked out of the way. however, um, one day we were coming back from branshatch (mate has a caterham)...its only about a 15 minute drive, but we had no roof. and no doors. i was wearing shorts and a tshirt.

i have never laughed so much in my life. it was like sitting there with a 30cm diameter hose on full pointing at me. you all have to try it.
