NAH!! Confrontation was the best game ever it was bleedin ace. Necromunda was just a very watered down version that lost much of what made the origonal great.
Anyway I could not agree more about the price hikes. They forced me and my girlfriend out of the hobby. :bigcry:
They do support necromunda under the fanatic lable but they haven't realsed any new models just lots of stuff for using all your 40k stuff(like eldar gangs etc) there is a new mag every few months.
As for confrontation did it ever make it out of WD i did read the rules but they were spread out over a couple of issuses and involved lots of d100s.

No that's the down side of it!! I remember (and I ain't looked at anything GW for about four - five years, excluding models and paints  ) it being in the region of White Dwarf 127 - 142, something like that wasn't it? Ithink there were about six issues with rules in but they never came out sequentially.....the buggerz. :E
An absolutely fantastic game they should have taken further IMO.

A game based around Mech battles would be nice.
They did have a mech game it was called adeptus titanicus you will know it today as epic 40k,epic sclae started out with just warlord titans and gradually more titans were added and eventually infantry/vehicle rules were bolted on and the whole thing repackaged as spacemarine, then titan legions and then epic 40k.
/me shiftily wanders up to Diablos
psst
'Battletech'
/me fades into shadows
/me shiftily wanders up to Vigo
psst
'What is it?'
/me dissapears into the Warp
before you go anywhere btech play one9or most of ) the mechwarrior computer games, otherwise you will drown under the entire 60 years of deatiled politics that make up the current btech storyline, and if you preffer the new 40k with the streamlined rules btech comes as a shock as you don't need miniatures and you have to use record sheets that make the old emperor titan sheet from titan legions look simple(lots of coloring in involved).
I'll have to have me a looky at this, any useful links, anyone?

Confrontation, along with Mighty Empires was the single finest Workshop moment. I LOVED that. They were both before the MASSIVE oversimplification of the games that created half-arsed games like Necromunda. I LIKED the old complicated games, Advanced Heroquest was BETTER than Warhammer Quest, a good game of Advanced Space Crusade could last WEEKS. That's why i stopped playing Workshop games about 6 or 7 years ago. I'd absorbed enough to write decent tabletop games of my own that were better than the new games they were producing.
