MY GUILLEMOT GE FORCE 2 64 PRO CARD SLOW! PLEASE HELP

Hi there,

My system is:

1GHZ P3
128MB RAM
SB LIVE VALUE
64 MEG GE FORCE 2 PRO (PROPHET)

I iam having awful trouble with this newly installed card that cost me £300 !

I have the 7.17 drivers with DIrect X 8.0 and the card is appauling in all D3D games, I gat refresh lines on the screen with games like trickstyle and Colin Mc rae 2.0s framerates are poor for the hardware it is using.

PLEASE PLEASE ANYBODY WITH ANY TIPS ON GETTING MY CARD UP TO SPEED and at its Normal rate please tell me which drivers are best for the card, I have heard that the hercules cards ( mine) are unstable, is this true?

Direct 3d games seem to be dodgy and open gl games are less dodgy, but still not right, open gl is better that D3D isnt it??????????


WELL PLEASE SOME EXPERT PLEASE HELP ME it was a stupid amount of money to spend on a card, but I thought it was worth it, it seems NOT!

What mobo you got?

try the 6.47 drivers

Bet you got the pci textures through the roof :P
Turn you pci texture for opengl and d3d down to about 5mb so you stream the textures and not dump them in chunks,
also make the agp men size in the bios around 32mb so it dont hammer your system mem.
Having the agp mem set to high in the bios will result in system degridation and masive slow down as the gfx card sucks up your real mem for its own useage leaveing very little to run anything with..

That memory I belive, is mainly for when the cards local memory runs out of space to store game textures and has to use the system memory to store textures. With a 64MB card that is not really going to happen unless playing 1600*1200*32 with uncompressed textures.

cheers then, but the big question is which drivers are best? I have Installed OFFICIAL Nvidia 6.50 drivers! There really does not seem to be much of a difference.

Oh well anyone with any other suggestions please state them here!
