Sidewinder Driver Required(Desperate)

Can anyone help, my joystick died a death under warranty.Microsoft sent a sidewinder joystick (usb) bog standard bottom of the range 3axis 8 button.NO driver in box. Help line unable to assist. Fitted usb connector to motherboard which is enabled in bios... surely I need a driver first ...
