View Full Version : Geforce 2 ULTRA Problem

My Spec PC

Athlon 750
128mb RAM
18 gig Hard Drive
VIA chipset M0b0

Ive recently bought a Hercules Prophet Geforce 2 ULTRA 64meg

when i first it i tryed TFC and Q3 RA3 both games crashed after 10-15 mins i tryed the latest drivers and the same happened i tryed reinstalling the games and i also formatted me PC once so then i knew it wasnt that problem.

Then i tryed another 5 differenet verions of the Detonators and the problem still consisted - i first thought the problem was overheating but after trying a D3D game and it not crashing i thought something different maybe, well actually i dunno


Thats what im asking - what could the problem be

I got the same problem with Creative 3d blaster ultra, so its not the cards themselves then.
Im running win2k, what are yiu running

Ive Just played Counter-Strike And TFC for HL in D3D and they both crashed, ive spoken to a PC expert and he thinks the problem is overheating so looks like ill need some cooling, btw im Running Win98 SE

If anyone can reccomend anything that would be alot of help

OK the overheating thing is bull****, i fixed the problem by doing one of the following 3 things (or all of them i dont know :) )
1. Downloaded latest via drivers version 4.28 NOT 4.25
2. Changed the AGP arpature size in cmos from 64 to 128
3. Downloaded BETA nvidia drivers from http://www.planetgeforce.com

da nick-fury is right, if you get a geforce/gf2/ati radon please make sure you install your motherbord driver beofre you install you vcard ones, as i have had a few days of madness wondring what i doen rong for my game to crash ( i had forgot to install my motherbord drivers :( ) ...
