View Full Version : I need help with a presentation on Skateboarding...
I have to do a 5 minute presentation on skateboarding for my English class on Tuesday and I was wondering if anyone knew any good sites about the history of Skateboarding, interesting facts and a bit of information on some of the top Skaateboarders, also can anyone reccomend a good video with lots of cool bits really close together so I can show a minute of really cool stuff, TankQ ;)

Hmm, i wrote a bit about it here (http://forums.gameplay.com/showthread.php?threadid=210493) and it took me ages but hotgalaxy didnt take notice
Maybe you can use it :)
There is a video "411 basics of skateboarding" thats good for tricks and it tells you a little about history.
I did this specially for you...

I wish i lived in London, its really good for skating (all the parks) I visit there regulary seeing as i dont live too far away (Oxford) :)
But all tha Skateboard parts are so much more expensive than j00 said in London ;(
I have to pay £32 for Spitfires at every shop I've been to ;(
and for a pair of Indipendant trucks its about £45 ;(

32 for spitfires? hmm, a little over, but the independants are fine (maybe a little over). But remember, whatever you buy thats a pro make, will last you for Ages, so its worth it.
But try some other places mate, you may find it cheaper there :)
I had to pay £17 for my Bones Bearings ;(
Damn overpriced London ;(

Yes, it seems so. So if you put all the prices for your whole board together, how much would it cost?
Bones Bearings £17
Spitfire Wheels £32
Independant Trucks £40
Bolts £2.50
Nice Board I fount on tha net $40 (£30)
Total = £121.50 ;(
And I still need new shoes, pads and a helmet ;(
I'm not going to get the board yet though, its the thing that needs to be replaced least on my current deck, I will wait until I have more money...

121 quid... Belive it or not, thats an average price for a really good pro deck
I got my first one for 70 quid and it was pretty good, it lasted me for about a year untill i started learning ollieing of some high stuff.
Its a pity you can go to oxford. Theres a place called SS20 (tom penny's first sponsor!) And i does all types of decks, pro ones, decent ones and all around crap ones...
Search around for a full set up thats not amazing but good. You may be in luck :)
