View Full Version : Quick win 98 question
Under control panel system u can set a bmp file to appear in this box how do u do it???????????????
Also what’s the file name for the splash screen as win 98 boots up thanx peeps
First question...err...can you rephase that, I'm not sure what you mean :)
Second question:
The file for startup screen is boot.ini and you put it in the root directory (c:\) You won't find it there as it's not there you need to make it. To do that go to c:\windows\system and look for boot*.ini (* = I'm not sure what letter it is...I think bootw.ini - Please wait while you PC turns off screen and boots.ini is You PC is now safe to turn off)
It might be in C:\Windows instead of in system.
You can open it up in Paint or any other image editing programs.
Thats wrong the one you want is logow.sys and logos.sys
The logow.sys is in the root driectory (C:\) and it is hidden. If you make a copy of it then open it with paint you can edit it etc.
Same with logos.sys but this time its in the windows directory (c:\Windows) and is also hidden.
Thanx for question 2 :D
