In the general scheme of this comic characters fall into
two catagorys,

The Superhero, all muscles, super powers and usually good looking. (xmen, batman, spiderman, superman, etc...etc...)

Or the Scumbags, down on there luck, normal types in abnormal situations. (Hellblazer,Deadenders,Preacher,Shade the changing man)

What do you like

I always go for a scumbag myself

Gotta agree really but the Scumbags tend to have the better writers anyway.

That's not too say there is no room at all for a bit of Spandex now and again such as Batman and The Wildcats.

Anyone know what Kelly Jones is doing now since leaving Batman???

Me goes and reads an issue of Groo the Wanderer or 'Mazing Man and laughs my socks off. :E

All of the above, I like the diversity of reading matter too much. :E

I believe he's singing with the Stereophonics :E

I like allsorts when it comes to heroes. I don't like them with capes generally though. Except Batman, cos he's nails, but a man in a cape does nothing for me.

I like Jesse and Cassidy from Preacher, Abbey from Danger Girl (for obvious reasons), Spider-Man, and loads more, so I can't decide.

Scumbags definitely. Even when they're superheroes I prefer 'em as scumbags (Rorschach (--how the **** do you spell that?) in particular). I find superhero stuff much more interesting when they're driven by their own personal agendas rather than the red, white and blue.

I always prefered the villains with the more outlandish plots the better - its the only reason I bought em, though I am torn between the dedication of Starr & the over the top viany of Dr.Doom

/me ums & ahs trying to decide

though when the rougher characters were first introduced it was like a breath of fresh air in the industry, but now they seem to havebecome the norm & are in danger of becoming boring themselves, one of the freshet series I have read in a while ( other than Preacher :) ) is actually Usagi Yojimbo as its such a break from the norm ( you just have to get by the very simplistic art & there is a very good story in there )
