No B&W Universe :(

There wont be any BW UNIVERSE shipping with the full game :( This means that we can only play against eachother in a fight to the death style play :(

You will have to pay to use this as well so it will really depend on the success of the online community. Anyway the universe is really just an expanded version of the Gathering I think you are just limited to 6 people in the same game.

I thought that Universe was gonna be a sort of MMORPG (or maybe a "persistant online world" is a better term)... bit like UO/Everquest/Asherons etc, but not the same... where it would be a permanent world where everyone could have their own little tower and some followers that would be there all the time... that would be far more than just an "extended" version of the 6-way deathmatch sort of thing...

But i'm probably wrong... if its just a server that's always up and you just tag your own world (that you've been playing offline) onto the edge of a conglomerate map of anyone who happens to be online at that time, then i suppose that would really just be an "extended" version of the gathering...

I also don't see how they can judge the success of the online community if they do it this way... as how would you judge the success, if everyone is just linking up direct? you wouldn't be able to measure the overall usage, or judge how many individuals are playing online... unless they are planning on using some VERY suspect methods of collecting data (read: intrusion/breach of privacy).
