View Full Version : [Sarcasm] WOW 1 WHOLE server [/Sarcasm]
Thx soooooo much wireplay, i can now enjoy pinging the server to get a space, then join and find its full.. what ive always wanted.
1 Server is not enough.

its better to start with one server and wok upwards than no servers at all......
no really they have to test stability better for one server to crash then 4,
also they will see how much traffic it gets etc. before setting up more
(remmber even cs had only 1 server to start with)
Yeh but FLF had 3 to start off with, now it has 6, with 2 usually empty and 1 clan.

well its a start and its up to us to make sure it is used. the more it is full the more chance we have of getting more..so no slacking soldiers..get in there!!

we were given on FLF 6 servers 1 clan and the rest open gamers public they are allf ull at theweekend during the week all but one useually are full or close to it.
BUT!!! some one though it was a great idea to turn 3 of the servers into custom map servers so now we have 3 empty (or just 5 players) custom map servers that empty very fast when the custom maps on. so we have 2 full 3 empty and 1 clan = stupid
glad that DoD has more organisation i think :) and anyway FLF servers crashed very very fast :) when they frist went up if i rember we kind of lost 2 out of 3 almost every day. or was that just me :)
yeah or maybe its because wireplay can count their spare servers on one hand.
by that I mean, you want more, you gotta be prepared to pay for it.
yeh but at least u got a server.. anyways if u care to read my thread about uk servers :pimp: u will find lots of ips for UK dod servers i have found

why dont you just use the server list in the game? what a useless complaint.

Hye ive come up with a great way to afford a ne server Mut how ya feel about a pay cut to help us out :P
yeahh but there is a few servers that we can cut if you look arround. ok they still have a few users but that shouldnt matter jus take em away like the tribes one we still used em but not enough unfortunatly :) i dont think a server for 32 players that only has about 10 max ever on it :D and we had 3 of em :) what games did they go to then cos can we ave one for DoD :)
FLF had more support at the time and there were servers to spear namely the Tribes ones i think :)
CS PP servers spring to mind.
Na Frontline Force are gonna nick those :E

i don't think FLF needs more servers, theres always at least 2 completely empty even at weekends, despite the custom maps debacle by devilman ..they still wouldn't be full like the rest.
I say loose a couple of the power play servers from CS and/or the grrrl gamers server, how many people on there are girls ? 0.001% per week i'd imagine at best, so it serves no purpose.
The reason the frontline force servers are empty at the moment is becuase people dont download custom maps. You can tell this becuase servers 1 and 2 are always full and only a few on the custom map servers and soon dispear when one comes on... I think we should split the counter-strike pp servers up between these two games ;) Or in the meantime I can convert one of the MKFR clan servers to Day Of Defeat.

I play on wireplay because its the place i get the best connection, all other gaming isp's give me crappy connection, lots of loss, lots of choke and high pings. If you play DOD you'd realise its so popular, servers just get swamped. And if you were following the DOD development (like carrot did) you'd also see it was going to be big.
But thats not my main gripe, my main gripe is thus. When i use WP server browser thing ( the one that lists all servers for all games) and i feel like a nose around, all i see are empty server, not being used. Ill just take a few examples:
AQ2: 4 of them, unused, and i know for a fact the wp aq2 communitie has all but left wp for bw. So why are these 4 servers still there?
Kingpin: Theres quite a few unused ones in there.
Quakeworld: Surely only the hardcore players actually play it now?
Quake2: Havent seen anyone play CTF for ages, same with Chaos and RA2. And what about those 6 clan servers? surely there arnt that many clans, CS has 6 ands thats 'adequate'
Quake3: From what i see, not very popular, from what i hear, it is. I don't get it, i see servers empty, i hear that their used?
OppForce: Never see anyone on more than 1 server.
FLF: 2 Servers wasted because of custom maps. Maybe they might as well not be there.
Gah, lots of others, cant be bothered to type anymore.
What i advise is a look at where your (WP) resources are, how much they are used, and how best to use them efficiantly.
Sorry if it looks like im picking on other communities, but im just giving examples.

You cant take away the Frontline Force servers becuase I said so :) The custom maps have been put on to one server alone and they are all full again :) Try and email drilla@gameplay.com I think it is and ask for more servers I'm sure you will get them...

When will LPB's stop telling everyone to get ADSL or cable because they are under the impression that the whole of the UK has broadband options.
I guess when one realises the other will too.
