Hi guys,

I recently became the proud owner of a Cyborg 3D USB (hey it's cheap, and force feedack is for perverts :naughty:) - unfortunately there seems to be a bit of a problem with calibrating the durned thing.

I calibrate it fine through windows control panel, following al the instructions etc. Then when I go back to the 'test' tab in the joystick control panel bitty the crosshair is up and to the left of the center. No matter how often I calibrate it I still get this offset.

Anyways - in Crimson Skies (one of the two games I bought it for, the other being Air Attack) this translates to the plane always veering off slightly up and to the left. In Air Attack it's fine however as I use the in-game callibration menu to set it up.

Any ideas? Dodgy joystick, driver problem or just bad luck?

Cheers,

Skunk

I hate e-mails. I've set up a filter which puts everything that isn't "Your forum post has been replied to" straight into the bin. And empties it.

Hi Skunk. I used to get this with my Cyborg 3D, very frustrating. In my opinion, the stick is a pile of tat, so take it back and exchange it for a Microsoft Precision Pro.....roughly the same price for the non FF version.

Sorry I can't be of more help, I'm from the "If it don't work either kick it or swap it" school of thought. :E

Bah - looks like I've found the answer in their FAQ. Apparently you have to click 'Apply' before clicking 'OK' or Win 98 ignores your callibration.
